Privacy Policy

Cuelens is built to keep your work on your own machine. This policy explains what the app and this website do and do not collect, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not to be hidden behind.

The short version

• Your scripts and notes are stored locally on your Mac. Cuelens has no account and keeps no copy of them.
• The AI features use your own API key. Your prompts go directly to the provider you choose, never through Cuelens servers.
• Cuelens does not track you, does not run advertising, and does not sell data.
• Purchases are handled by the App Store or our payments provider, not by us directly.

Who we are

Cuelens is a macOS application published by the developer of Cuelens ("we", "us"). You can reach us at support@cuelens.app with any question about this policy or your information.

What the app collects

Cuelens is designed to work without an account and without sending your content to us.

Your content

Scripts, notes, and settings are stored on your Mac. They are not uploaded to us and we cannot read them. Deleting them on your device deletes them everywhere they existed.

AI features (bring your own key)

To use the AI chat you provide your own API key for a provider such as OpenAI or Anthropic. The key is stored in the macOS Keychain on your device. When you send a prompt, it and the relevant part of your script are sent directly from your Mac to that provider under your key, so their handling of that request is governed by their privacy policy and terms. Cuelens is not a party to that exchange and retains no copy of it.

The phone remote

If you pair a phone as a remote, the connection runs over your local network between your devices. Cuelens does not route it through the internet or through us.

Diagnostics

Cuelens does not include analytics or usage tracking. Diagnostic messages stay on your device and are shown only when you opt into a debug mode.

What this website collects

Our host records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to operate and secure the site. If you submit the beta application form, the information you enter is processed by our form provider so we can review applications and contact you. We use it only for the beta program and do not sell it.

Payments

When you subscribe to Cuelens Pro, the purchase is handled by our payments provider, Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record for the sale. Lemon Squeezy processes your payment and manages billing under its own privacy policy and terms. We receive only what we need to confirm and support your subscription, such as its status and the email address used at checkout. We never see or store your full card number.

Service providers

The parties that may process limited information on our behalf or at your direction are: your chosen AI provider (only when you use the AI features), Lemon Squeezy, our payments provider and merchant of record (for purchases), our website host, and our beta form provider. Each acts under its own privacy terms.

How long we keep information

Because your content stays on your device, its retention is up to you. Beta application details are kept only for as long as the beta program needs them and are removed on request. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and then discarded.

Your choices and rights

You can remove your stored API key from Settings at any time, and delete your scripts and notes on your device. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you, such as a beta application. To make a request, email support@cuelens.app and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

Cuelens is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for material changes, note them on this page. Continuing to use Cuelens after a change means you accept the updated policy.
